  • 📚Book Review📚 ✨All Your Fault by NJ Moss @nj_moss ✨Genre: Psychological Thriller ✨Publisher: @bloodhound.books ✨Released: 14th of June ✨No stranger to writing, having been a ghostwriter for a number of years, NJ Moss has taken the plunge by going solo and has delivered a smashing and powerful debut with All Your Fault. ✨I throughly enjoyed this book and found it to be very well written, plotted and executed. NJ Moss really has crafted a compelling tale, which he has put his heart and soul into. it is gripping, intense and gets under your skin. The characters are strong and its outcome was one I didn’t expect. It was different, memorable and a real standout for me as to how ones guilt can consume you. ✨The opening chapter of the story is harrowing and sets up the rest up well. It does deal with a number of sensitive topics which may be a trigger for some, including mental illness, anxiety and paranoia. These have all been portrayed realistically, sensitively and like NJ Moss, these topics are also very close to my heart. ✨I have to admit that I was not going to read this book just yet having other reading commitments to get through, but all the amazing feedback I kept reading about this book, had my curiosity piqued and I just had to bump it up the list. I am so glad that I did. Right from the get go I was hooked and couldn’t tear myself away. ✨NJ Moss is a refreshing new voice in the psychological thriller genre and a natural born storyteller who I am excited to add to my growing list of favourite authors. My thanks to all for my advanced readers copy, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily ✨This cover with a lone woman standing behind the window gave me goosebumps when I first laid eyes on this book and I just had to know her story. After reading the blurb, the following questions kept running around in my head. What is she hiding, are her intentions pure and most importantly, does she have anything to do with the disappearance of her new husband’s little girl Emma? ✨Karen King has crafted a gripping and addictive page turner that I found very compelling. It is a slow burn, but the tension and suspense that is built up along the way sets the story up well for its outcome. You know it is going to be something big and there was no way I could put the book down until I knew how it was going to unfold. ✨The book opens with Emma’s disappearance then rewinds back eight months to where it is told from the points of view of Lily and Maria in the lead up. Immediately Lily has her guard up with her father’s new bride given that it is not even a year since her mother has passed and feels that there is more to her than meets the eye. Meanwhile Maria is hiding something so harrowing and shocking that if exposed, threatens to ruin her marriage and her new found happiness. ✨The Perfect Stepmother is not your normal run of the mill psychological suspense and there is so much more to it. What I was not expecting was how it pulled on my heartstrings and had me shedding a few tears. It plays out well, but what I loved the most was the ending! Oh my goodness!!! So good!   • 📚Book Review📚 ✨Title: Where the Grass is Green ✨Author: @laurenweisberger ✨Genre: Domestic Drama ✨Publisher: #HarperCollinsAustralia ✨Released: 10th June ✨#NetGalley ARC ✨I never really paid much attention to the news when the college admissions scandal first broke back in 2019, but since reading this book and educating myself by reading more about it and watching the documentary, Operation Varsity Blues on Netflix, it really has opened my eyes. ✨The story follows morning show anchor Peyton Marcus, her daughter Max and her sister Skye. Told through each of their points of view, it deals with the aftermath of Peyton's husband arrest for his involvement in a new college admission scandal, as well as the ripple effect it has on each of the characters lives. It pulls you in and has you hooked from the beginning to its satisfying endings for all. ✨I really enjoyed all the characters in the story. My heart went out to Max as she tries to come to terms with her parents actions. She really is the victim in this tale. Skye is a great character with her own secret that is made worse due to the scandal surrounding her sister. Now too Peyton. I admit at first I did not like her. I found her very self absorbed but, she is remorseful and has the most growth over the course of the book and in the end I quite liked her. ✨Where the Grass is Green is a thought provoking, insightful, very entertaining and scandalous read! It astounds me that each book I read from it, is like reading the opening blockbuster, not a followup in a series. This is such a credit to Jenny O’Brien that she is able to still keep it fresh and Lost Souls is no exception. Once again she smashes it out of the park and has delivered another outstanding read. ✨Lost Souls sees Detective Gaby Darin step up to acting DI where she is faced with not one or two but 3 what seem to be unrelated cases, that of a missing 10 year old child, an elderly woman, and the discovery of someones remains mixed up in another ones ashes! Whhhaaattt??? Boy does Gaby and her team have their work cut out for them in this one… ✨I mentioned in my review for instalment 3 (Fallen Angel) that this one was my favourite to date in the series, but Lost Souls has surpassed this! After I buckled up and got comfortable, knowing that anytime I read a book from Jenny O’Brien it is going to be an all nighter, I was taken on one very wicked and twisty ride as I was transported into the pages alongside Detective Gaby Darin in helping solve these cases. It wasn’t easy by any means! Jenny O’Brien keeps her cards very close to her chest in this one. ✨I hope that this review has not only enticed you to read Lost Souls, but also the other 3 books in this brilliant series, if you haven’t already. It really doesn’t get any better than this one. Each tale is masterfully plotted, perfectly written and researched, always has a cast of first class characters, even the undesirable ones, and just delivers each and every-time.
