Today I am taking part in the blog tour and reviewing The Widow by Valerie Keogh, published by Boldwood Books.
When Allison’s wealthy and charming husband Peter is found dead, she appears distraught, devastated….delighted?
Because despite an apparently picture-perfect marriage, Allison knows it was all built on a bed of lies.
And as the truth regarding Peter’s life and death are revealed, Alison must try to keep her own dark past buried.
Because if Peter was keeping secrets, then his widow is too…
“Grieving or guilty?…”
Keogh once again delivers what she does best and that is giving the reader a dark, chilling and gripping read with The Widow.
I was caught in a tangled web of secrets, lies and deceit, where hidden agendas and events from the past shape the present as it unfolds in a now and then narrative, which I always enjoy. The plot twists kept coming, where Keogh was always a step ahead of me, shutting down my theories at each and every turn.
The perfectly crafted unlikable characters suit the story well and there are plenty in this one and each evoked many different emotions! The short and snappy chapters kept a steady pace and the intensity was built up as it progressed. There was certainly never a dull moment at all throughout!
Overall I found this to be a very entertaining read and I look forward to what Keogh will give us next.
Thank you to Valerie Keogh, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of The Widow, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Amazon Australia, US & UK. I will also add to, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, Foyles and BookBub if available.
