Today I am reviewing Deadly Craving by OMJ Ryan. This is released on the 2nd of October, published by Inkubator Books.

After a lengthy leave of absence, DCI Jane Phillips is back in Major Crimes, neck deep in the most macabre murder investigation of her career.

The naked body of a famous sportsman has been laid out in a churchyard, wrapped in a white shawl, surrounded by flowers. Stranger still, his heart is missing.

With such a high profile victim, the pressure to find the murderer is instant and extreme.  And it only increases when the killer strikes again – leaving behind another mutilated body, posed in exactly the same way.

With no obvious connection between the two victims, Phillips turns to profiler Dr. Siobhan Harris. Can she help to identify the perpetrator or discover the motive behind these brutal murders?

But no one could have prepared Phillips for what the doctor is about to reveal.

Everything points to a killer on a mission, and a body count that’s likely to double within days – unless Phillips can stop the murderous psychopath, hell bent on satisfying his own Deadly Craving.

A killer with a blood lust that is centuries old…”

Deadly Craving, the 8th instalment, is another fantastic addition to this series that I just devoured! This is a series that I drop everything to read when a new book is made available to me, so my apologises to the author whose book I was reading that I put to the side, so I could read this one straight away.

Set in Manchester and 10 months after the chilling events in the previous book, Deadly Night, DCI Jane Phillips returns to the major crimes unit after a leave of absence, and her first case back is a doozy! An intriguing case that is morbid and very dark, this isn’t for the faint hearted.

Once again Ryan brings to the table a perfectly written and executed piece of work that showcases his extraordinary skills for storytelling and character development. I always say and will continue to do so, that DCI Jane Phillips is a formidable character and just makes this series all the better. Flawed and real, she still holds her place in my top 5 favourite female DCI’s.

If you are looking for a new police procedural series to sink your teeth into, then look no further. This one is brilliant and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Do yourself a favour and don’t let this one pass you by. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you to OMJ Ryan, Inkubator Books and Booksprout for allowing me to read an advance copy of Deadly Craving, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, Foyles and BookBub if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK.
