Today I am taking part in the blog tour and reviewing Some by Robin Roughley. This was released on the 18th of May, published by Red Dragon Publishing.

When something upsets your friend, you’re supposed to help them out, right?

Ruben Jones and Roz Smith are now firm friends. In fact, they’re each other’s only friend. So when Roz needs help with a situation at home, Ruben is more than happy to help her.

The only trouble is, when Ruben has a problem, his go-to method of handling it is murder…

Our killer couple are back with a bang in Some, the thrilling sequel to Robin Roughley’s ‘batshit crazy’ None. When the forty-two peas are down, how far would you go for your best pal?

Some see’s the return of my two favourite bat s**t crazy serial killers Roz and Ruben! I just love these two and once again they had me in stitches with their peculiar ways.

Picking up not long after the events in None, Roz finds herself in another predicament and enlists Ruben’s help. After all, who else is better than Ruben to assist when murder is on her mind.

Once again Roz stole the show for me. Although I do love the interactions between her and Ruben, it is the moments she shares with Hoop, that I love the most and that can have poor Hoop often than not on the receiving end of some pepper spray!

Daisy Lamp, Pendulum Breasts and Catalogue Man also make an appearance again with the latter two in smaller roles. These characters are part of Ruben’s story away from Roz and play their roles well.

Roughley has delivered another winner here with Some and I could not get enough. I was again disappointed when I came to the end as I was having so much fun with it, but I am very optimistic with how things end in this instalment that this isn’t the last we have have seen of Roz and Ruben.

Thank you to Robin Roughley and Red Dragon Publishing for my gifted copy of Some, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, Foyles and BookBub if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK.

Robin Roughley is the author of around forty novels, manyfeaturing the force of nature that is DS Lasser, the laconic, sometimes world-weary sergeant who patrols the streets of Wigan in the north-west of England. He also writes in a number of genres, including hard bitten and cosy crime, plus comedy, with a supernatural romance thrown into the mix.

After working at several jobs, including paint maker, pie salesman (a job that anyone from Wigan has to have done at some point) to pallet maker and eventually truck driver, he decided to try his hand at writing a book and so the first Lasser adventure saw the light of day.

He has been a full-time self-published author since two-thousand and thirteen and still finds it hard to fathom how he has got here. When not tapping away at the keyboard, he likes to go for walks to solve plot problems and find new ways to bump people off.
