Today I am taking part in the books on tour and reviewing The Girl Before Me by Laura Wolfe. The was released on the 29th of April, published by Bookouture.

I switched on the bedroom light, casting a glow across the apartment. No one was there. But then the locks on my front door caught my eye. I thought I’d locked them both, but now one was open…

When I moved into the apartment with my little daughter Lily, it was meant to be a new beginning for us. Now we are right in the heart of downtown, in a building with its own doorman. For the first time in a long time we are safe, away from my ex-husband.

But just as we settle into our new lives a letter arrives for someone called Annie. The neighbors tell me to ignore it. She’s just the woman who lived here before me, who moved out one day without a word.

Curious, I open it anyway and am shocked by what I read. It says Annie wasn’t safe. It said she needed to get out.

Now, I can’t escape the idea that someone is watching us. I feel I can’t trust my neighbors.

And I can’t help but think… Something happened to Annie. Something bad. And Lily and I are not nearly as safe here as I thought we were…

A totally unputdownable gripping thriller, perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Shari Lapena and Gillian Flynn.

“Her Perfect home…Her perfect nightmare”

Nowhere should be safer than the sanctuary of your own home. For Rachel and her daughter Lily, moving to an apartment complex in city after leaving a domestic abuse marriage behind, should be the fresh start they need. But the mysterious disappearance of the previous tenant and the feeling of being watched has Rachel questioning, are her and Lily safe?

Full of tension and suspense with an ominous creepy vibe throughout, I really enjoyed this story. The mystery behind Annie’s disappearance keeps things interesting and I was so intrigued as to what happened to her.

I enjoyed Rachel’s character and she leads the story well. Little Lily is a sweetheart and the residents of the apartment complex are a mix bag and you don’t know who to trust. I also have to say the name of Lily’s friend Marnie, although not named after me, gave me a thrill to see it in print as it is not very common.

Laura Wolfe is a go to author for me and I have loved each book of hers. She really knows her audience, never fails to deliver and I am pleased to say that The Girl Before Me is another winner!

Thank you to Laura Wolfe, Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of The Girl Before Me, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
