Guilty Women by Melanie Blake #BookReview #GuiltyWomen #CrimeThriller #NetGalley @MelanieBlakeUK @HarperCollinsUK #onceuponatimebookreviews

Today I am reviewing on its publication day Guilty Women by Melanie Blake, published by Harper Collins.

On a beautiful island off the English coast, four TV actresses gather.

Their fifth member is missing – and only they know why she was killed.

As the secret between them threatens to come out, tensions on set run high.

The women are determined that the show must go on – no matter what it costs.

But one of them is on the edge of telling the truth – and no show in the world could survive this scandal…

All of the women have something to hide – but the question is, are they all guilty?

The cast of RUTHLESS WOMEN is back – but this time they’re in trouble…

Having read and loved the first book in this series, Ruthless Women, I had been waiting very impatiently for Guilty Women and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Blake once again smashes this one out of the park!

Set four months after the events in book one, it was great to be transported back to its magical island setting and be reunited with the cast of these empowering women who I just adore. They are all so perfectly imperfect and compliment each other well.

The story unfolds away from the cameras of Falcon Bay and has more drama offscreen. It centres around themes of guilt, revenge, secrets, lies and power and just like any great soap opera ends on a cliff hanger. I need the next book stat!

Whist Guilty Women can be read as a standalone, I do encourage you to read the first book in the series to fully appreciate it in all it gloriousness. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Guilty Women is an absolutely deliciously wicked, super fun and wonderfully over the top story that I devoured in one sitting! It is so good, that it will most definitely be part of my best reads for 2022 as well as part of my top 5 best reads for April!

Thank you to Melanie Blake, Harper Collins UK and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of Guilty Women, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.

Melanie Blake is the bestselling author of Ruthless Women, which became a Number 4 Sunday Times hardback bestseller and an ebook bestseller in 2021, selling over 150,000 copies. Guilty Women is her second novel about the cast of Falcon Bay, and her first with HarperFiction.

Growing up in a working-class household with severe dyslexia, Melanie has her own Rags to Riches story, just like that of her characters – at 15 she was told by her school career advisors that her decision to work at a record shop was ‘a clear example that she wouldn’t go far in her career’. They were wrong. By 19 she was working at the BBC’s iconic Top of the Pops show and by 26 she had built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading music and entertainment managers. She also created her own acting agency from scratch which became the most successful independent boutique agency in the UK.

Melanie still represents a high-profile stable of actresses, but is also now enjoying success in her own right as an author, playwright and producer.
