Today I am reviewing on its publication day The Influencers by S.V. Leonard, published by Canelo Crime.

A filter can hide all manner of secrets…

When budding true crime blogger Maggie Shaw is invited to the Influencer of the Year awards, it feels like everything is finally falling into place. The party is held on a glamorous yacht and presents the perfect opportunity for Maggie to network – the first step towards achieving her dream of turning her hobby into a full-time job. But by the end of the night, there’s one question on everybody’s lips: who killed Stella Knight?

Stella was beautiful and famous. Her life appeared to be perfect. But behind the façade, Stella had made a number of enemies – and all of them were on board.

A page-turning crime thriller, perfect for fans of Catherine Cooper and Lucy Foley.

“They’ve got a life to die for…”

A behind the scenes look into the darker side of social media influencers, this is an entertaining read. The murder of Stella Knight, one of the biggest influencers, dominates the story as true crime blogger Maggie sets out to find her killer.

The Influencers gave me Christie’s Death on the Nile vibes, but in this case on a yacht and I throughly enjoyed this section of the book. A feeling of claustrophobia washed over me knowing a killer was on board and with no where to go, unless you wanted to jump in the sea, the tension was rife.

I liked Maggie’s character as we follow her on her quest as she works through a host of possible suspects, each with their own secrets to hide and a dislike for Stella. The mystery played out well and I had a good time trying to put all the pieces together. The outcome was unexpected and very well done.

All round this is a well written fun read and look forward to more from Leonard.

Thank you to S.V. Leonard, Canelo Crime and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Influencers, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.
