Today I am reviewing on its publication day Always Remember by Cathryn Grant, published by Inkubator Books.
Louise loves her family. To death.
Kelly is married with two kids, enjoying an ordinary peaceful life – until she finds her father-in-law Frank dead in her backyard sauna.
Now, Frank’s grieving widow, Louise, has installed herself in Kelly’s house and shows no signs of leaving. Ever.
In fact, she seems determined to take over Kelly’s role as mother and wife, inserting herself between Kelly and her twin boys, lavishing attention on Kelly’s husband Wyatt.
Kelly tries to be understanding – Louise has had a huge shock, after all, losing her beloved husband of so many years.
But Louise knows exactly what she’s doing, and as her horrifying agenda slowly becomes clear, Kelly realises she has to fight. For her children, her marriage – and her life.
Always Remember – the stunning psychological thriller from the author of The Other Couple and The Guest.
I throughly enjoyed this book and it is these types of stories that always suck me in and I find so addictive. A mother in law from hell always makes for an entertaining trope, but in this case there is so much more to the story, which makes it stand out above the rest in a similar vain.
Manipulation is at the forefront, but also mental instability where circumstances shape the decisions and actions of one character. Yes some of these actions are disturbing, but I still couldn’t help feel some empathy towards them.
With its cast of strong characters, where we are given each of their points of view, Always Remember is thrilling nail biter and with its jaw dropping outcome, makes for a compelling read.
Thank you to Cathryn Grant , Inkubator Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Only Your, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.
