Today I am reviewing on its publication day What She Knew by Miranda Rijks, published by Inkubator Books.

Book Description

They thought they’d buried their secrets with her. They were wrong.

Life has been good to Stephanie. Married to college professor, Oliver, with two adorable children, she lives in a lovely house, surrounded by beautiful things.

It hasn’t always been like this.

Nine years ago, Stephanie’s flatmate Alison vanished, presumed murdered. It was a horrible time, and Stephanie tries hard not to think about it.

But when a TV researcher working on a true crime series wants to interview her about the case, Stephanie is forced to confront the past and recognise that she has a deep need to answer one burning question – what happened to Alison?

It soon becomes clear that someone doesn’t want her digging for the truth and is willing to do anything to conceal a shocking web of lies. As her perfect life unravels, Stephanie realises that by opening a door into the past she has woken a sleeping monster. And now her own life is on the line…

What She Knew – the stunning psychological thriller from the best-selling author of The Visitors and The Arrangement.

What She Knew, the latest release from Miranda Rijks, is another addictive and twisty psychological thriller that had me hooked. As I have come to know with Miranda’s books, you can’t tear yourself away from them once you start and this one is no exception.

The story follows Stephanie and the disappearance of her flatmate Alison 9 years prior. When Stephanie is approached to take part in a true crime series featuring Alison’s case, she is forced to confront her past. But there is someone else involved who doesn’t want Stephanie to get the answers she craves and it is not long before her own life is put on the line.

Fraught with plenty of tension and suspense, What She Knew kicks things off spectacularly with a chilling opening chapter that sets the tone for the rest of the book. From there, the pace is frantic and the pages just turn themselves. The outcome caught me off guard and is full of surprises, which always makes for a satisfying read. All up, What She Knew is another entertaining tale from Miranda Rijks. Now, bring on the next one!

Thank you to Miranda Rijks, Inkubator Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of What She Knew, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
