Today I am taking part in the blog tour and reviewing Getting Away With Murder by Joy Wood.

Book Description

Claire is happily married to the charismatic Max Maric and living the dream in a luxury house in the prestigious Sandbanks area of Poole Harbour. She loves her husband and their precious son, Freddy. Her life is perfect. Or so she thinks.

Annabelle is Max Maric’s lover. She’s a wealthy widow and is all set to marry him, just as soon as he’s divorced. Her life will then be perfect. Or so she thinks.

One man, two women, but they can’t both have him.
And he doesn’t get to choose – the schizophrenic decides, with a sophisticated plan to eradicate her nemesis in the most heinous of ways.

The intended victim needs a friend. Fortunately, she has a new one she’s become close to.
But nobody told her that false friends are worse than open enemies.

I love a good book cover and this one caught my attention immediatley. The added bonus is what is inside the book. An addictive, gripping and intense thriller, that will keep you both engaged and enthralled from beginning to end.

They may say that hell hath no fury like as a woman scorned, but nothing has determination like a woman in love. Both women believe the happy ending is theirs for the taking, but just how much is one of them prepared to take?

This story really plays out well and although it is not the first of its kind I have read, Joy Wood makes her interpretation a standout. The characters have been created with a deft hand and each bring the story to life.

I really liked this book and it just flew by as the pages turned themselves. It was actually a case of wanting to go slow to savour it, but my need to know how it was all going to unfold was stronger and won out. I was not at all disappointed in its outcome, only that it was over.

This is the first book I have read from Joy Wood and I really liked he style. She expertly draws in the reader and sucks you into the pages, with virtually no chance of escaping until that final one. I do love when this happens and this is what makes Getting Away with Murder all the more enjoyable. A great read with another must read author to add to my list.

Thank you to Joy Wood for my gifted copy of Getting Away With Murder, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.

Let’s Get to Know Joy Wood

Joy Wood has worked as a nurse most of her adult life and turned to writing six years ago to ‘see if she could.’ Her earlier work was adult romance and intrigue, but more recently she has switched genres to romance with a crime element.

Joy lives in the small but charming seaside town of Cleethorpes in North East Lincolnshire and her writing ideas come from watching the tide turn daily, of course with the obligatory ice-cream – someone has to support the local economy!
