Today I am taking part in the blog tour and reviewing The Watchman by Rob Parker. This was released on the 24th of June, published by Lume Books.

Book Description

One last mission for an old friend. What could go wrong?

It’s sold as an in-and-out jaunt to The Big Apple, to pick up a harmless envelope. But when Ben Bracken is offered the assignment, he’s a little hesitant. He’s a family man now, with a duty to stay alive for his loved ones.

But, with the request coming from fellow former military man and trusted friend William Grosvenor, not to mention the eye-watering payout, one last job can’t hurt, can it?

So begins his American road trip, one that takes him from the city that never sleeps to the misty swamps of Florida. All in pursuit of one highly coveted envelope. Because it turns out, this job isn’t the walk in Central Park it was promised to be.

As he’s pursued by New York’s most dangerous mobsters, factions of federal law enforcement, and American Intelligence, Ben’s hunch is that their joint quarry must hold something of international significance.

He’s not wrong. The contents that’s slipping through these influential fingers contains evidence of the world’s biggest cover-up. Evidence that will rewrite history books and incriminate one of the most powerful men on the planet.

It’s probably best it winds up in the right hands.

The Watchman is packed with action, underpinned with believable conspirative intrigue, world-class writing and twists you just won’t see coming.

It was great to be reunited once again with my character crush Ben Bracken in The Watchman, which is the 5th instalment in this awesome series by Rob Parker! This is one action packed, twisty and fast paced read that had me flicking the pages so fast on my Kindle it struggled to keep up!

Things have finally settled down for Ben. He has a beautiful family and life is good. But when he is asked by his friend and mentor to help him with one last mission, which will take him to America, Ben knows he can’t refuse. As the blurb states, what could go wrong? Hmmmm I wonder….

I loved the plot for this one, its setting and how the New York mob, although not limited to, plays a role this time around. So many times I was on the edge of my seat with my heart racing as to how Ben was going to get through this one. How does he fare? Well you will just have to read this to find out!

The Watchman is another in the series that exceeded my expectations. Rob Parker expertly lifts the bar with each release and smashes it. The characters are always first class, the writing strong and peppered throughout with wit, always makes these books such an enjoyable entertaining reading experience and The Watchman is no exception. A great addition which I loved.

Thank you to Rob Parker, Lume Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Watchman, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.
