Today I am taking part in the blog tour and reviewing Only You by Cathryn Grant, This was released on the 2nd of May, published by Inkubator Books.
Hadley did a bad thing. Now she has to pay.
Hadley is one of those rare people who feels she’s living the perfect life. She has a husband she loves, a charming daughter, and a job that is deeply fulfilling. Sometimes it almost seems like a fairytale.
Sure enough, little by little, things start to go wrong. There’sthe creepy guy from down the street who keeps staring at her teenage daughter, there’s the strangely needy woman who moves in next door…
Just little wrinkles, but then Hadley’s world is turned upside down when someone close to her is murdered. And Hadley begins to suspect that the killing is linked to something from her own past. A terrible secret she has never shared with anyone…
As she digs deeper, Hadley realises there is someone out there who knows what she did, someone who is planning to take her perfect life – and turn it into a perfect nightmare.
Only You – the stunning psychological thriller from the author of The Other Couple and The Guest.
So it’s probably fair to say that we have things in our past that even when they come to mind years later, fill us with a deep sense of shame and regret. For Hadley, she had dared to believe that she had put her past all behind her and that she deserved to live her life of happiness and fulfilment. But will that all come crashing down when the death of someone close to her could not only be directly linked to her, but because of what she did in the past.
Cathryn Grant definitely knows how to put on a great show in the readers mind as her books are always so vividly portrayed and Only You is no exception. I was pulled into my Kindle and was a spectator on the sidelines with my box of popcorn completely engrossed in the story. It’s a real page turner that kept me on the edge of my seat completely hooked from beginning to end.
Cathryn Grant always does a great job with her characters, but I did have trouble forming a connection with Hadley. In saying that, this did not ruin my enjoyment of the book. The rest of the cast are a diverse bunch, a mix of likeable and unlikeable, relatively relatable and each play the role they have been given well.
Only You, is a clever and tense read full of suspense and with a foreboding vibe throughout of what’s to come, makes for such a heart racing and nail biting read. And that ending.. it is just the cherry on top on another great psychological thriller from Cathryn Grant.
Thank you to Cathryn Grant , Inkubator Books and Booksprout for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Only Your, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
