Today I am reviewing The Girls Are All So Nice Here by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn. This was released on the 1st of April, published by Harlequin Australia.
Nice girls can do bad things…
When Ambrosia first arrives at prestigious college Wesleyan, she’s desperate to fit in. But Amb struggles to navigate the rules of this strange, elite world, filled with privileged ‘nice’ young women – until she meets the charismatic but troubled Sully, with whom she forms an obsessive friendship.
Intoxicated by Sully’s charm and determined to impress her, Amb finds herself drawn deep into her new best friend’s dangerous manipulations. But if she wants to play Sully at her own game, Amb has no idea just how devastating the consequences will be…
Deeply unsettling and compulsive, The Girls Are All So Nice Here is a gripping exploration of the brutal lengths girls will go to, to take what they think they are owed.
Ok listen up psychological thriller fans do I have a book recommendation for you! The Girls Are All So Nice Here by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn is a must read for 2021. Dark, disturbing and oh so wicked. this is one book that you won’t want to miss!
I have to be honest up front and say that I am always weary of reading any type of stories where bullying is at the core, having been bullied myself at school, but I was drawn to this book immediately after reading the blurb, where I was compelled to keep going and I am really glad that I did. This book is just so messed up!
What makes The Girls Are All So Nice Here stand out over similar tales, is its narrator is one of the bullies. A bold move from the author, which in this case works really well. It is a fascinating read to see how those earlier actions and choices of Ambrosia and Sloane/Sully reverberated through time to impact their lives today. Sometimes you just can’t run from the past.
The Girls Are All So Nice Here is a captivating read right from the beginning and Laurie Elizabeth Flynn has done a fantastic job of bringing it all to life, This one has it all. Toxic friendships, manipulation, revenge and a thrilling ending and twist that will leave you speechless. This is my first book from Laurie Elizabeth Flynn and it will most definitely not be my last!
