Today I am reviewing Close My Eyes by Beverley Harvey. This was released on the 23rd of March, published by Bookouture.
How did I forget the worst thing that’s ever happened to me? And how do I try and put it right?
The first time I remembered, I thought I was dying. I couldn’t breathe – something was crushing my chest – all I could see was darkness. A terrible fear, pulling me under. And all because of a glimpse of a face I hadn’t seen in years.
Since then I’ve realised: this is a memory of an attack. Something vicious happened to me years ago – a night that changed my life, without me even knowing. My family and friends don’t believe me – they say I’m imagining things, but I know I’m right. What I don’t know is who was responsible. And I won’t stop until I find out.
Wherever the truth leads me. Whatever betrayals are uncovered. Whatever the risk.
A heart-stopping psychological suspense novel that asks: who do you trust the most? Your friends? Your family? Or your own mind? Fans of T.M. Logan, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell will be gripped by Close My Eyes.
Close My Eyes, the latest offering by Beverley Harvey, is one twisty tale that I could not get enough of! It is definitely just a one more chapter kind of read and like me, you may just find yourself losing time until there’s are no more chapters left to be read! I do love it when this happens.
Beverley Harvey has created a thrilling and thought provoking tale that will have you hooked right from the prologue. I found it a fascinating look into the mind and how a chance sighting of someone can trigger repressed memories and throw a life into such turmoil. It delves into PTSD, abuse and rape to name just a few, which may be a trigger for some readers, but they have been dealt with sensitively.
The characters have been well crafted, are believable and had me invested in them. I enjoyed the interchanging chapters between Gemma and Beth and the reader is given a great insight into each of their lives and struggles.
Close My Eyes definitely gets the heart pumping and is very addictive. A well plotted, written, dark and character driven story, this is one that is a must read for the psychological suspense fans out there.
Thank you to Beverley Harvey, Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Close My Eyes, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.
