Today I am reviewing Blame by Patricia Dixon. This was released on the 17th of February, published by Bloodhound Books.

Book Blurb

What if the past came knocking?
Frankie is running away from her past, and the repercussions of a night that changed her life forever. Hoping for a fresh start she unexpectedly falls in love.

Unbeknown to Frankie, the wheels of fate are set in motion when Herbert Dunne, a convicted murderer, is released from prison.

When he moves in with Margaret, a woman who he has formed an unlikely relationship with, their dark sides gradually emerge allowing their inner demons to blossom.

News of Herbert’s release once again rocks the small village of Elkdale and as they remember the young woman he murdered.

But what is Herbert hoping to achieve by stirring up the past? And who is behind the new spate of murders?

One thing is clear – someone is out for revenge. Someone who thinks Frankie and her friends are to blame.

It can be really tempting to try and flee the past. The question is what is Frankie fleeing from and will the wonderful new life she has built for herself be destroyed when Herbert, who has just been released after serving a prison term for murder, starts to dig up the past. And just how does Margaret fit into all of this?

Patricia Dixon has done it again and has delivered a tale that she just smashes out of the park! I have been reading her work for a while now and I have to say that Blame is for me, her best work to date!

A plot that intrigued me and had me completely invested from the first page until the last, I was just captivated by this tale and could not tear myself away from it. Not that I wanted to mind you. Each chapter left me wanting more and it wasn’t long before I raced to the finish line.

Patricia Dixon always does such a great job with her characters and the ones in Blame are no different. There are a few to wrap your head around, but it is made clear who each are and the role they play. I have to say and as strange as it may sound, this is another book where I was fascinated by the villain and really enjoyed when the chapters were presented from their point of view.

Blame is a beautifully written tale full of tension and suspense It is addictive, thrilling and I could not get enough! A first class read that will have you up until all hours and will definitely get under your skin. A must read for 2021. It was an absolute pleasure to read and review Blame which I highly recommend.
