WE’RE ALL ONE MISTAKE FROM RUIN…
Dan has worked hard for the perfect life. He has a loving wife, beautiful kids, a fabulous home and is a successful businessman.
One afternoon Dan steps onto his usual train and sees the waitress who served him an hour earlier. It all seemed so normal, but it was the most dreadful mistake. Four stops later, Dan is a criminal who has lost everything. He’d only just met her, so why did she destroy him—and why did she say \’Sorry\’?
Dan battles through a web of lies and deceit to clear his name and win his life back, but first, he needs to find out who plotted his downfall.
The inspiration behind the story came from reading articles on how unexpected events can make someone’s world unravel. It struck me just how fragile all of our lives really are. It could happen to any of us. All it would take is one mistake.\’ —Jem Tugwell
Dishonoured is a compelling psychological thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages, with a cast of characters that will keep the reader guessing right to the very end.
Jem Tugwell has created a very clever and smart psychological thriller that had me so caught up in its web, I could not untangle myself until I had turned that last page, where it left me breathless and shaken to my core. A thrilling mind bender that will stay with me for a long time to come.
I desperately want to describe to you the emotional roller coaster that this took me on but, it is impossible for me to do so without giving key elements of the story away. Jem Tugwell has done an exceptional job of creating a story and set of characters, that without me even realising, had me connected to in a really unique way.
This is my first book I have read from Jem Tugwell and from my view, as his first foray into the psychological thriller genre, I think he has nailed it! The writing is sharp, the characters memorable and with writing that is so flawlessly engaging, makes Jem Tugwell an exciting new voice to definitely keep tabs on in this genre.
Dishonoured is a fast paced psychological thriller that challenged my mind and got under my skin! It is addictive, chilling, gripping and with it’s jaw dropping outcome, makes this a must read for 2021. It was my absolute pleasure to read and review Dishonoured which I highly recommend.
Thank you to Jem Tugwell and Serpentine Books for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Dishonoured, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
