Today I am reviewing on its publication day The Little Lies by Valerie Keogh, published by Bloodhound Books.

Book Description

Could you keep a secret if your life depended on it?

When Jodie, a nurse with a long-held secret, starts dating Flynn she believes the past is firmly behind her.

Little does she know that Victor Hill, a man from her childhood, has been following her for years and thinks it’s time he makes his presence felt…

Oblivious to the evil lurking behind her, Jodie is certain that nothing can spoil her life, but a call from the manager of the nursing home where she works changes everything.

Then the discovery of a parcel tied to her front door rocks her world further and as everything begins to crumble around her, she wonders who she can trust.

Is the man from her past responsible for her torment, or does someone much closer to home have Jodie in their sights?

When Jodie meets Flynn, there is an instant connection and attraction that results in a whirlwind romance. But, behind the scenes, there is a dark and sinister presence from Jodie’s past, that threatens to ruin her new found happiness.

When it came to writing this review, I found myself just staring at the computer screen for the better part of half an hour wondering how I going to put something together that wouldn’t give any of the story away or do this book any justice.

There are very few books out there where the outcome shocks me to the core and although I have read some that have done this and left me speechless, none have shocked me or left me speechless more so than what transpires in this book. It is gasp-worthy and jaw dropping.

The Little Lies is so different to Valerie Keogh’s normal psychological suspense novels and is definitely out there. I thought I knew how this book was going to unfold but, in no way was I expecting how it does. I was also surprised by my reaction to the revelations in how they actually made me feel quite sad. Ok, I have to stop now and wrap this up before I blurt it out!

The Little Lies is a fantastic, gripping and controversial read and is another perfect addition to Valerie Keogh’s bibliography. The pace is fast, the writing first class and with those revelations, makes this so compelling. It was such a pleasure to read and review The Little Lies which I highly recommend.

Thanks to Valerie Keogh and Bloodhound Books for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Little Lies, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available.
